Mmm-mmmm. That is a Tasty Burger.

You may have heard news yesterday that Apple Passes Microsoft to Become Second-Largest U.S. Company by Market Capitalization, meaning that Apple is basically worth more money than Microsoft.
This isn’t surprising and we’ve seen similar patterns in Facebook beating out MySpace which beat out Friendster. It’s a fairly simple tactic in the technology field of doing what your competition does, but doing it better.
While we “hear” about Microsoft innovations like the Courier or Surface, these products are not reaching the mass consumer market or, in the case of the former, are killed before ever being realized.
So while, Microsoft plots and plans and tries to keep up with failures like Zune and Vista, Apple is running circles around them using the insidious ploy of actually building solid and desirable technology instead of thinking or talking about it. Remember Bill Gates musing over MS Office online? While Microsoft talked, Google just did it.
It is not a complicated business practice to actually do your job and doing it well is the best way to not have your competition continuously eat your lunch.
Less talking, more doing.
