Let’s get this out in the open, I don’t like open-toe shoes. Mostly I don’t like when they are worn in the winter and view it as a sign of stupidity, but that is not what this is about.
Despite my grievances, the open-toe boot has spread like a virus but while one can assume it is fashionistas “mixing it up,” I think it all comes form manga.
Naruto in particular.
